Cultivated Silk
I am pleased to be able to offer a selection of Natural and Hand Dyed 100% cultivated silk imported from Switzerland. This yarn has been spun from the finest silk - quality specified as Super!!!
An elegant yet strong fiber, this fine silk yarn will glide through your knitting needles as you create heirloom quality knits. The color is Natural and can be hand dyed - by you, or custom dyed per request by myself.
There are 2 weights to choose from:
12/2 with 825 yards per 100 gram skein or cone Natural $27.50 Hand Dyed $55.00
60/2 with 3,300 yards per 100 gram skein or cone Natural $31.50 Hand Dyed $63.00
The yarn pictured below is the 60/2 yarn on a cone. A dime has been place besides a strand of the silk so you can gauge size.
The small hand dyed skeins pictured can be used for sock reinforcing yarn in the heel and toe of socks - as seen on the Magnifico Merino Sock Kits - and I've used it to hand and machine quilt some of my quilts. There are approximately 100 yards per small skein and they are $2.00 each.
