Mercerized Cotton

This 10/2 cotton has been mercerized to strengthen the fiber and to give it a silky luster.  Mercerization also makes the fiber more receptive to being dyed, so the colors are rich and vibrant.  There are approximately 262.5 yards per ounce.  Recommended needle size single strand – hand knitters size 2-4 USA needles or (3.25mm to 3.75mm needles), machine knitters tension 3 on a 4.5mm machine for a single strand.  It can also be doubled and used at tension 7 on a 4.5 mm machine.
