The Penny Sock Pattern (miniature version)

This miniature version is made exactly like the full size Penny Sock with the exception of the number of stitches cast on and the number of rows knit.   The pictured sock was knit with Jewel Tones  Magnifico Merino - yarn that is 100% superwash merino wool - also available undyed.  Click on these words - Magnifico Merino - to see what colors are available.

INSTRUCTIONS

Cast on 18 stitches instead of 36 stitches.

At the toe turn, put stitches in hold until 6 stitches remain, and then increase back out.

Knit 60 rows of circular knitting instead of 132 rows.  This will determine how long the foot will become.

Knit the heel as you did the toe, transferring 18 stitches to the ribber bed and short rowing down to 6 stitches, then increasing them back again.

Circular knit for 40 rows - this will determine the leg length.

Then transfer stitches for ribbing.  I did 6 rows of 1x1 ribbing on the pictured socks.

These would be wonderful as Christmas ornaments or perfect to use in place of bows for a baby shower present.

Enjoy!!!
